Police: Attacks across Iraq kill 3 soldiers

BAGHDAD (AP) ? Authorities say three Iraqi soldiers have been killed and 16 people have been wounded in the latest attacks across the country.

A police official says a roadside bomb struck an army patrol in Baghdad's western suburb of Abu Ghraib early on Tuesday, killing three soldiers and wounding three others.

A medic at a nearby hospital confirmed the casualties. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media.

Brig. Gen. Sarhat Qadir says a parked car bomb exploded as a mini-bus drove by in the central town of Sulaiman Bek, wounding 10 passengers.

Police say three policemen were wounded when a roadside bomb struck their patrol in the western city of Mosul.

Violence has ebbed in Iraq, but insurgent attacks are still frequent.
